Although life is a little busy, I needed to post this article that I came across today and express my feelings. I have recently been out of touch on Blogs and Facebook and even e-mails, although I have never really been good at checking e-mails. Before I had even read the article I linked to below, I was realizing I was starting to spend too much time online. I wouldn't call it an addiction by any means, but things were being neglected and I was staying up way too late for a Mom who doesn't get enough sleep anyway. I stopped getting on facebook and stopped checking everyones blog daily due to a very busy schedule and sick kids. Even though I knew it was not a necessity to be online, I still have had recent feelings of guilt for not staying in touch with everyone. It seems like everyone is online and staying in touch and I have kind of been out of the loop. I think it all started with Facebook. Finding several people you knew back in the day and feeling like you need to know their every update. I even have felt guilty about people I hardly even know or that I am not really that close to.
I am really grateful for a few very special people I have found online that I have missed dearly and I love blogs and definitely am glad we all have them, but a good thing in excess can really be bad. I really started feeling guilty that I wasn't commenting on this persons or that persons and they would think I didn't care about them. When you start feeling guilty about not posting or updating--DON'T! I realized, if I should be feeling guilty about anything it is spending time with my family or keeping my house clean. So, I want to say how much I love knowing what you are all up to and I definitely will try to update my blog as well, but I am going to try to get more balance in my life. If you don't hear from me as often I do love you and life is just not permitting an update because it is filled with other good things too, like my beautiful children who are growing up so fast, and a husband I love dearly.
If you have a minute, read the article below and ask yourself, "Am I spending too much time online?"
