Memorial Day 2007

Everything seemd like a normal memorial day, or business as usual as the saying goes. Yet today, memorial day 2007, would prove to be one of the worst ever experienced in the great state of Utah.

The day started out with a visit to the cemetary in Ogden. In honor of Jill's heritage we visited the grave of her Grandpa Allphin, even though in this picture Grandma's name shows up--not a sign. It was nice to visit with family.Little Jackson waves the great american flag that he had taken from the grave of some other guy without flowers, just kidding. We kept him etertained by snapping pictures of him waving this flag--ingenous I know! So up to this point the day couldn't be better. We were able to visit with family, remember our loved ones who passed on, we then went to Nate's Mom's for a sweet barbaque and pool party. We played the game, "five crowns". Jill wasted us!! The lower the score the better and everyone had more than double if not triple even QUADRUPLE the score that she did!!! I know--we already booked the plane and hotel to vegas, keep coming back to the blog and you will hear all about our winnings. I know what your thinking and no this is not the worst part about today. Event though we took a good beating at the amazing card skills of Jill a good time was had by all until...

Yes, the tragedy of The Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City, Memorial Day 2007. One event that will go down in the shady grey areas of Utah's history. The Jazz lose at home and lose all hope of going to the NBA Finals (yes they still have one more game but we all know it is over, sorry eternal optimists). Even though they accomplished an amazing feat just by being there, we all couldn't help but feel a little dissapointed at their loss at home. And fans throwing stuff at Duncan and the Spurs? Whats up with that? Anyways a day that will go down in history. Poor Nate...Poor Jazz...and Poor Utah.

First things first! Let me bring to light the simple fact that Jill’s unbelievable streak of luck was just that, UNBELEIVEABLE! David Blaine would be proud of the slight of hand that she displayed. By starting to deal to the person on the right and crossing directly in front of herself she managed to shift each player’s hand 2 whole places. Thus positioning the winning hand directly in front of her! Jill or Jills? Jill needs more wild cards. Jill gets more wild cards!

Secondly, let me remind you that the JAZZ lost due to the actions of their fans! Don’t blame the players for shooting 0-8, on jumpshots, during a crucial period of time. Don’t blame the refs. Steve Javey was calling a pretty good game until the Utah Fans within the Energy Solutions Arena verbally assaulted him. After the abuse, Fisher and Sloan paid the price for the reckless behavior of the “fans!” And who was at the arena??? Not I and not you! It was Tlove that was there! Inspector, it was Tlove on the 22 row with the water bottle! And he would have gotten away with it, if it weren’t for those kids and that dog!
